• Pristine – Laundry Detergent: A concentrated detergent with optical brighteners for vibrant colours and deep cleaning on all loads. Mild, high-performance and kind to fibres.
• Polar – Low Temperature Destainer: Allows you to wash everything, including red bags at 40 degrees, saving you money on energy bills, reducing wash times and lowering your carbon footprint.
• Elite – Laundry Sanitiser: A dedicated sanitiser conforming to BS EN 1276 and HTM 01-04 standards, making it ideal for foul and infected laundry. Safe, compliant and softening.
• Infusion – Fabric Conditioner: Softens, neutralises pH and uses encapsulated motion technology to deliver long-lasting fragrance, even after drying. Helps make ironing easier.

• A 40 bedded Care Home has 2 x 10kg washing machines, and each machine averages 12 washes per day = 24 washes per day.
• 16 washes per day were previously washed at 60°C. – (Communal Items i.e bedding and towels)
• 4 washes per day were previously washed at 65°C or 71°C – (Foul and Infected Red Bags)
• 4 washes per day were previously washed at 40°C – (Personal Items)
• It was found that the energy used to raise the water temperature from 40°C. to 60 °C for communal items was 2 Kwh.
• As this was done 16 times per day the energy saved by washing at 40°C is 32Kwh per day.
• It was also found that the energy used to raise the water temperature from 40°C to 65°C and to maintain the temperature for 10 minutes as per the legislation was 3Kwh per wash.
• As this was done 4 times per day the energy saved by washing at 40°C was a further 12Kwh.
• So total daily energy savings is 44Kwh.
• This care homes business tariff is £0.20 per Kwh for electricity.
• So saving 44Kwh of energy equals £8.80 per day.

“Hannah Henderson, Director at The Blackadder Care Group, recognised the financial advantages of changing how the laundry was done in their six care homes when the company’s electricity costs unexpectedly trebled and enquired about Trust Hygiene’s Four Aces of Laundry products and system. When we explained the equipment, system, and training program would enable the staff to wash at 40 degrees Celsius, the chemicals would remove stains at lower temperatures and the sanitiser would enable red bags, typically washed at very high temperatures, to also be washed at the 40 degrees Celsius. Training would encourage the staff to buy into washing at 40 degrees Celsius and the equipment would enable us to verify they were washing at that temperature. Hannah consented to The Four Aces trial in one of her homes, only a month later asked us to convert all six of her homes after the trial turned out to be a complete success. The homes are now using less electricity, taking advantage of quicker wash times, saving money and no longer ruining cardigans at high temperature.”
