Trust Hygiene offers a selection of the latest dental waste bins, with sizes ranging from 1-22 litres for sharps waste, with options to go larger with 30-60 litres or 240-1100 litres for bagged waste. For amalgam waste, our containers range from 1-6.4 litres and other specialist bins for pharmaceutical and cytotoxic waste range from 5-22 litres. Different types of dental waste will need to be collected at different schedules. Clinical and hazardous dental waste, including sharps, amalgam and other infectious materials, should be collected either weekly or fortnightly. Collection frequency will depend on your storage capacity and waste volume. Non-hazardous dental waste will require less frequent collections depending on volumes and storage, with monthly collections more suitable, provided the stored waste is secure and follows rules set in The Hazardous Waste Regulations 2005.

At Trust Hygiene, we always aim to protect the environment with our dental and amalgam waste collection services. We do this by recycling all materials we can at our BAND A rated waste transfer station. Our dental waste containers are also made from recycled plastics and we ensure our collections are optimally mapped to reduce emissions as much as possible.

Yes, amalgam waste can be recycled. During amalgam waste disposal via our Walsall waste transfer station, the mercury in the waste is separated and purified and can then be reused or stored, with separated metal components also recycled if possible.

Trust Hygiene is a fully licensed waste management company and ADR licensed, meaning we are qualified to transport hazardous dental waste to be disposed of. Each enhanced DBS checked team member is also comprehensively trained on all regulations, and we are an accredited member of the HWMA (Healthcare Waste Management Association).
